Food security will remain a fundamental problem in meeting the basic needs of community, not only rural areas but also urban areas. Tarakan City is city located North Kalimantan and has population density that causes limited availability land for agriculture. One solution to overcome this hydroponic cultivation support food self-sufficiency border This study aims identify examine through an agribusiness system approach including input subsystems, farming/cultivation, processing, marketing business services. The research method used descriptive qualitative systems approach. determining sample purposive sampling. results indicate vegetable farming upstream subsystem includes production facilities infrastructure such as screenhouses, seeds, nutrition, agricultural machinery. On Farm covers area 10 x 15 m2 with total income Rp.1,373,000, per production. downstream processing products sorting packing using mix consisting two channels. supporting consists government institutions, namely Agriculture Service, Industry, Trade SMEs well private institution, PT.
